Strawberry is an 11 hand high Welsh pony who has given her whole life in the service of humans but was going to be shot because she doesn’t jump anymore so can’t go hunting!
Strawberry is a devil to catch but once caught she is the sweetest and kindest natured pony and can be trusted with the smallest child both on her back and around her on the ground, in other words a pony worth her weight in gold who was simply going to be killed out of hand because she was not what her owners wanted anymore.
She is slightly lame but can still be ridden at walk and trot and could probably still canter if the ground was soft but she does not need to do any of that here, we use her for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Animal Assisted Learning, because she is so quiet and because she is so pretty (little girls love her) she is a pony ideally suited to this type of work.
