Lara

Lara is a very old sheep, we know she is at least ten and maybe a good deal older than that. She arrived here with a mate and they were called LaLa and NooNoo, we soon changed their names!! Her mate, who still lives out in the field, is called Norbert.

We have a goose here called Henry, we were told when Henry came to live with us that he actually thought he was a sheep so for years and years he lived with another old lady of ours called Tojo.

When Tojo passed away of extreme old age we went into the field to catch another elderly sheep called Dinky who we thought would like to replace Tojo – no way, Dinky took off like a bat out of hell at the thought of being made to live inside at night but Lara was right there saying “I will come, please choose me” so we did.

Lara knows what side her bread is buttered, des res, two meals a day summer and winter, loads of hay and straw and Henry to look after her!! The only thing Lara does not like is getting shorn as she says it is undignified to be turned upside down and it makes her old joint ache. Henry on the other hand cannot understand why nobody ever shears him.
