We are delighted that Mac the Mossburn Rabbit now has his own book.

The story follows our very own Mac on a voyage of discovery with the help of Fern the Deer and the Rabbit Rescue Squad, amongst others.

Our opening hours are 10 am - 4 pm, daily.

Admission is free but donations are gratefully received ... and much needed!

Staff are always happy to show you around and allow you to interact with the animals.

Driving Directions

Mossburn Animal Centre is located on the road between Dalton and Lochmaben, near Lockerbie in Dumfries and Galloway, south west Scotland.

Leave the M74 onto the A75 signposted Dumfries. North of Annan you will come to a signpost for the B7020 signposted Dalton, Lochmaben, turn right. Go through the village of Dalton and approximately 4 miles on you will come to a brown tourist sign for Mossburn Animal Centre, turn left and first right into our car park.

From the North (M74)
Leave the M74 at junction 17 Lockerbie. Follow the A709 signposted Dumfries. Go over a bridge which has traffic light control on it and take first left signposted Hightae. Take first right signposted Heck, keep going until you come to a T junction, turn left. Mossburn is now the third turning right, with brown tourist sign on left.
