Mr Moo Man
After a heartfelt plea via email from a lady in Glasgow we decided that we would have to take on yet another so called “Micro” pig, imagine our suprise when arriving at the relevant address in Glasgow to discover that we were about to remove this pig from a second floor flat!! And what a job we had, Mr Moo Man as he had been named, was not for going anywhere but with a lot of persuasion and a bit of strong arm tactics we eventually got him in a dog cage and carried him to the car. Luckily I had taken Ross and Greg two oftime helpers at Mossburn with me because I would certainly not have managed on my own!! On arrival at Mossburn Moo Man was a little quiet and dejected for all of maybe twelve hours, then he discovered other pigs, other animals and the freedom to roam. Now Moo Man is a wee pig full of character who absolutely adores humans, he is very, very friendly and greets his “Glasgow” family who visit him regularly with great grunts and squeaks of pleasure.
Moo Man was bought in Cambridgeshire for £1,000 taken to Glasgow aged eight weeks by his purchaser and kept for twenty four hours after which time the purchaser discovered she did not like the smell of his urine, she then passed him on as a gift to the family who, luckily for Moo Man, realised after nearly a year that he was growing fast and their flat was no place to keep a pig. Who is really at fault in all this, certainly the purchaser but ultimately the breeder, people are breeding these pigs to make money and for no other reason and I cannot for the life of me understand why Trading Standards have not moved in to stop this trade under false advertising. Moo Man is one of the lucky ones along with our Coco, Lulu and Peppa
